Rocket Star Records, the vinyl supplier for your music cravings located in the heart of "Art Haven", Downtown Sarasota. After visiting their brick & mortar I also crept around to the social media page that served as a ghost town – opposite to what I had experienced in store with friendly welcomes and cozy ambience.
With this in mind, I made it a personal mission to rebrand themselves to vocalize their ideals.

before taking creative measures, i dove into the root of their issues: competition, messaging and targeting. at the moment they trade, buy & sell: vinyl, cassettes, cd's, turntables and stereo equipment.in the local market they are at an advantage with an organized idea of who they are as a record store; friendly, classic and open arms. now this doesn't say much, however breaking this down further helps us gather a unique idea of how to position rocket star records. their goal is to act as a personable and timeless store with liberating ideals to reignite the flame of vinyl appreciation.

chicks (short film)

Chicks follows Camille as she is on the run when she spots an abandoned house and ducks behind its back wall for protection. Gallo exits his home confused and confronts Camille. She begs and pleads with him to let her in, which he does, but only because unbeknownst to her, Gallo recognizes Camille as his long lost wife who abandoned him years ago. Through stories of his past that are eerily similar to her arrival at his house she slowly learns who she is. It culminates when Gallo takes her to a shack, where she comes face to face with the physical embodiment of her identity, and rejects it. But Gallo has other plans. He is overcome with greed and traps Camille to prove how much he loves her.I created a system of promotional material for the film at Ringling College of Art and Design so they can be showcased to the college screening, potential employers, and the general public. The finalized materials included a brand identity, poster and social media campaign.

MONSTER JAM grunge collection

A colleague who directs the breand team for monster jam asked me to put concepts together that would sit well in a more grimey/grunge theme as well as fit within the MJ brand. A lot of my artwork style ranges all over the place but with this I knew I could center a lot of my grunge/grimey ideas towards something I grew up watching.My initial ideas were to really centered around huge graphics, looking a lot at who we're trying to compete with at this moment as well as how we can use the vintage designs from our own past to help position us for our audience.

during a rush season i was handed off files from an outsourced agency to reconstruct into: html standard sizes, social media sizes & other miscellaneous SEO sourced sizes. with the concepts relatively premature, i saw an opportunity to expand on the photo comp / manipulation that was handed to us for the exports and develop an exciting image our guests would be thrilled to engage with.
